Shutter Measurement InstructionsMeasuring for shutters can be as simple as measuring the width and height of each of your windows and letting us do the rest of the configuration for you. Here is how you can measure a whole house in as little as 30 minutes. The figures below exhibit the 2 methods of mounting a shutter (Inside Mount and Outside Mount). The key to determining which method to use is to identify a 1" flat area surrounding your window. In the case of the inside mount, the 1" clear area will be within your window jamb. In the case of an outside mount, the shutter will attached to either your plaster wall or the window casing located on the surface of your interior walls. In either case, all you need is 1" of mounting surface. If you are unsure as to where to mount your shutters or how to measure, feel free to call us at 1-800-736-2303 or email a close-up photo of your window to howto@signatureshutters.com Determine your mounting method Find a 1" wide surface to mount your shutters to: This surface can either be inside your window opening (Inside Mount) or on the face of your window opening (Outside Mount).
