Inside Mount

Outside Mount

Outside Mounting Instructions

If mounting outside the opening (outside mount)
A little more difficult to measure than an Inside Mount, but still quite simple and performed by our customers every day.

Width - If the 1" flat surface is the area immediately outside of the window jamb, just measure the width of the jamb and add 2" (1" for each side). If the flat area is not immediately adjacent to the window jamb, measure between the outside points where you are intending for the shutter frame to rest.

Height - If you have a window sill, you will not use a bottom frame piece, so only the top frame piece will overlap you casing, therefore your height measurements will only be 1" greater than the opening’s height. If you do not have a window sill, measure in the same way as you did the width making the height measurement 2" greater than the window opening size itself.

Record these dimensions on our measurement form and fax them to us so that we can create a detailed quotation for your genuine Signature Shutters. Upon receiving this quotation you can either order as stated, or engage in a dialog with us where we can customize your order in more detail with options such as divider rails, split pullbars, louver options, frame options and more.
Zoom in look at the casing

The blue/shaded area is the inner 1" of casing, which the shutter frame covers over.
